MPSC State service Examination details: Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a government body to conduct Civil Jobs recruitment Exams in Maharashtra. The main head office of MPSC is located in Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra.
Selection process: MPSC conducts Civil jobs exam after regular interval of time. The candidates are selected for Civil Service jobs according to their merit in Exam and by obeying the rules of reservation.
State Services Exam- It is the most important exam conducted by MPSC. The exam is conducted in parts which are
(1.) Preliminary Exam
(2.) Main Exam
Once you have cleared both the exams then you are eligible for the 3rd instalment of exam i.e. the interview exam.
Preliminary Exam- The candidates have to solve 200 MCQ’s of General Ability in a Time duration of 2 hrs. The questions are set in English and Marathi.
Main Exam- Only the candidates who have cleared the Preliminary Exam are qualified for the Main exam. The Main exam is of 1600 Marks.
6 Subjects (English, Marathi, General Studies Paper I, General Studies Paper II, Optional Subject I and Optional Subject II) contribute to the Main Exam.
Once cleared the Main exam the candidate is called for the Interview.
Exam Date: The Preliminary exam will be conducted on 10 Feb 2013 and the Main Exam will be conducted in the First week of June 2013.
Eligibility Criteria- The Candidate should be at least 19 years of age. The max age limit for a General candidate is 33 years of age. However the max age limit for other reserved categories is 38 years of age. In case of a handicapped candidate the max age limit is 45 years of age.
