Qualification, Pay Scale and Experience :

• Ph.D with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch of engineering with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum of 10 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor.Or
• An outstanding Engineer/Technologist working in industry with established reputation and who has made significant contribution to knowledge but not having Ph.D degree would also be considered.

Areas of Specialization : 

• For Chair Professor (Tata Steel Chair) : Mineral Processing, Coal Beneficiation
• For Chair Professor (NMDC Chair): Opencast Mining
• For chair Professor (Rajiv Gandhi Chair of CIL): Mining Environment

Age : At the time of appointment the Chair Professor should have a minimum of 2(two) years to serve before reaching the maximum age of 70 years.

• Prescribed application forms may be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), ISM, Dhanbad -826 004 by sending a crossed demand draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, ISM, along with a self addressed stamped (Rs.50/-) envelope of 30cmx12cm size.
