BE/BTech in Chemical Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology with a First Class. Person Ishould have leadership quality in setting up and running modern teaching and research laboratories, capability to help design and fabricate experimental set-up for research works and ability to handle sophisticated instruments. Previous work experience involving area(s) relate to the Environment would be helpful.

MSc in Chemistry or Physics/BE/BTech with specialization in Spectroscopy / instrumentation / Electronics with a First Class. Preferably one-year experience on operation of sophisticated equipments such as NMR, ESR, SEM etc.

BE/BTech/MSc in Computer Science & Engineering with first class, preferably one year experience in Computer Networking (hardware and software), System Administration for Linux and Windows platform.

BE/BTech/MSc in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry with a First Class with special knowledge, experimental skill and experience of working in research / teaching laboratories in one or more of the above fields preferably for one year and ability to come up with original ideas would be preferred. Person with ability to run sophisticated instruments and experimental laboratories would have edge over others and previous work experience involving area(s) related to Nanotechnology would be helpful. A Scientific Officer of Grade II is expected to have the leadership ability in setting up and running modern laboratories involving one or more of the above fields.

Working knowledge in computer controlled experimental setups for data acquisition. Prior knowledge in handling some of the major equipments such as X-ray diffractometer, high power laser, thin film coating unit, low temperature cryostats, vacuum pump, etc would be added advantages.
