Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Title of the project: Response of molluscan community to climatic variation: A case study from Miocene of Kutch

Eligibility criteria:
- 55% or higher marks in Masters in Earth Sciences/Geology/Geological Sciences with mathematics till class 12 level
- Eligibility in UGC/CSIR NET-LS, GATE, INSPIRE or equivalent
- Prior experience in Paleontological work
Work details: Analysis of Molluscan specimens for taxonomic and morphological diversity, Paleoecological study of Miocene molluscan specimens
Monthly stipend: As per DST rules

Post-doctoral position
A post-doctoral position is available at EFAML, Materials Science Centre, DCS, IISER-Kolkata (www.iiserkol.ac.in/~s.roy) with Dr. Soumyajit Roy, on a DST project titled, “Oxometalate Based ‘Reactor-on-A-Glass-slide’ (RAG) using Colloid and ‘Opto-chemistry’”. The incumbent is expected to have expertise in synthesis of colloids, nanoparticles, optoelectronics and have hands on expertise on scattering techniques, especially on static light scattering (SLS), Zimm plot analyses, SANS, SAXS. The incumbent should have obtained her/his Ph.D. from any reputed Institute/University in India or abroad.

The duration is initially for 1 year from 1st August, 2013. The salary is Rs. 22,000/- and Rs. 6,600/- HRA.
